As part of our commitment to enhancing direct and
candid communications with you, TRS is pleased to offer TRS.TV
In our newest video: "2013 TRS-Related Legislation," we'll hear about a COLA for many TRS retirees and other legislation passed during the 83rd Regular Session. In our video, “TRS-A Great Value for All Texans,” we'll learn why TRS not only provides benefits to its members and retirees, but also provides a great value to the entire state of Texas through jobs created, money spent by beneficiaries within the state, and more. Watch the "TRS 75th Anniversary Video" - a look back at the agency’s long history of serving Texas' public educators and retirees. In this video, we also look at what's ahead for one of the nation's largest public pension funds. We'll hear from active educators, retirees, TRS executives, and TRS current and retired employees as they describe what makes TRS so important and special to those the pension fund serves.
Watch the latest episodes of "TRS Today" in which TRS executives and staff are interviewed about current issues and topics of interest to our members, beneficiaries and others. In the first of a two-part series, Chief Investment Officer Britt Harris tells viewers a little bit about his background and provides an overview of one of the world's largest public pension funds. In part two of the series, we learn more specifics about how the TRS portfolio is structured and how Britt has assembled a highly educated and skilled team dedicated to active and retired educators of Texas. In the video “Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans and other TRS-Care Improvements,” we’ll hear from TRS Executive Director Brian Guthrie about exciting improvements to the TRS-Care 1, 2 and 3 plans. Along with no premium increases and no deductibles nor copays for certain preventive services, there’s also good news concerning the new Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans. In the video “TRS Pension Fund Sustainability Study,” we’ll learn about the study the Texas Legislature has directed TRS to conduct to research and receive public comment on various pension fund designs. In the “TRS Retiree Health Care Plan Sustainability Study,” we’ll learn about a second study commissioned by the Texas Legislature to research and receive public comments on ways to improve the long-term sustainability of the TRS-Care plan.
In the video “TRS Communications Update-2012,” find out about new communications initiatives at TRS including our social media program, and then don’t forget to like and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn!
